Beautiful and centuries old tradition in Indian Craftsmanship, Block Printing is done with hand carved blocks, which is then dipped in dye and hand stamped on 100% Indian cotton in a repetitive and continuous flow to create a gorgeous patterned fabric. Some styles include Block Printing Batik where the blocks are dipped in wax and then stamped on the fabric. When the fabrics is dyed the wax resist the dye to display the stamped pattern. Some pieces may be a simple scattered stamping and others can be very complicated and labourious as in Ajrakh where there is layers and layers of printing and includes both cool and warm tones.
